This traditional Sekimori stone is made from rare “hon-Kurama stone” mined in Kurama, Kyoto.
Sekimori stones are small stones with palm ropes draped across them in a cross shape that are placed on top of stepping stones in tea gardens and outdoor areas.
These stones serve as a sign that says “please do not enter beyond this point.”
