Kadode(首途) means departure. When Minamoto no Yoshitsune headed to Hiraizumi in Oshu, a stone monument and plaque were erected to pray for a safe journey. Nose black granite was used. As it is a natural stone mined in the form of boulders, no two stones are the same. A number of stones were combined and then placed on a base stone after being fitted with a large stone insert.
