Doso-shin
- Good Luck Charm
- Komainu / Guardian Statues
Dōsojin are deities of folk belief worshipped throughout much of Japan since ancient times. They are often enshrined at mountain passes, crossroads, and village boundaries to ward off evil spirits and epidemics.
Dōsojin statues come in various forms, but the most common are the “Sōtai Dōsojin,” depicting a husband and wife. These statues not only serve as protectors against misfortune but also embody wishes for love, safe childbirth, prosperity, and marital harmony.
Placing a Dōsojin statue at your entrance or in your garden is recommended to prevent misfortune from entering your home and to promote a harmonious living environment.
